If you’re a talented and motivated ColdFusion developer who has good Model-Glue experience and understand ColdSpring, I’ve got a job for you! We need someone who can immediately hop into the fray in an existing project, take their assignments and get coding.
The project is a large, enterprise application for a major, recognizable, company. We need someone who can dedicate at least 40 hours a week and can work during typical business hours.
This project is slated to last until March 31st. While it’s not terribly long, there is a chance the project could be extended or that additional projects may follow.
If you’re interested please send an email to me at dhughes@alagad.com.

If you've recently lost your job, please read this blog entry.
Just a few moments ago, a good friend of mine from the Adobe developer community called me to give me some advanced warning. Apparently yet another high profile developer is about to lose his job. He suggested that Alagad might have an interest in hiring that person. Truth be told, this developer is exactly the type of person Alagad wants on staff.
However, Alagad has already added four people this year (twice as many as I'd planned on for the first half of he year). We've got plenty of work, but not such an overabundance that we are hiring at this moment. Unfortunately, I can't simply bring someone on just because they're exceptional. I have to have the opportunity that matches the individual.
And that brings me to the point of this article. Yes, there is blood in the water. A few of our brethren have lost their jobs recently. However, there are still plenty of good projects available! And, the developer community is made up of people who know about these projects. You yourself may know of an opportunity.
Alagad is hiring a Flex developer! I'm hoping to find one extremely talented Flex developer to join my team. This person also needs to be able to do advanced ColdFusion development, if needed. The person I'm looking for will have a lot of strong experience with enterprise development.
So, if you're a senior developer who wants to work from home, please waste no time in applying.
Here are some finer details of what I'm looking for:
My team works primarily with the Adobe toolset. That is, ColdFusion, Flex and Air. Experience with additional Flex technologies such as LCDS and Blaze DS would be a bonus too.
Though the person I'm hiring should primarily be a Flex developer, having strong experience with framework-based web development using ColdFusion is important. Unfortunately, as a consulting company, we can't always control the presentation technology our clients use.
I’m in need of finding a junior programmer who is willing to work part time for Alagad. Essentially, what I’m looking for is someone who is either currently a student and who wants experience or a junior programmer who wants to make some extra cash on the side. If this person does well, then I’d hope to hire them full time to work with the Alagad team next year.
This person’s time will be split between answering tech support requests and working on new Alagad products and internal projects. Tech support is currently a very small fraction of this time.
This person should know ColdFusion and have a reasonably good understanding of CFCs, as this will be the primary language and technology they’ll be working in. I’m also looking for some knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other web-related technologies.
Again, this position would be a part time contract position. I’d rather have someone who can work during the day, if possible, but I’m also happy to consider those who can only work nights and weekends.
